Hi All,
Just weighed myself this morning and I officially weigh 187.2! Which means I have lost 2.8 whole lbs this week!
My target goal was to lose 2 lbs per week, so losing 3 for sure let me know that I'm doing something right. I am aiming to eat healthier foods and eat all the way up to my calorie goals this week, and I'm also hoping to add weight training into my exercise, so maybe I'll lose even more this week, maybe not, who knows.
I am buying a scale today as well, to weigh my food for more accurate calorie counting.
It's an exciting experience, though, and I am NOT disappointed in losing 3 lbs, that's for sure!
Happy monday to y'all.
xo

Life Update
So yesterday was kind of a huge mess for me.
I went downtown to the tattoo shop that I've gotten my nose pierced at twice before, and I get all the way there only to realize I have forgotten a form of government issued photo ID. My passport is expired, my DL is expired, and they wouldn't accept my care card & student ID because my student ID has my middle name as my first name. [screams internally]
So then my boyfriend was like "I want to cheer you up let's go shopping and go to a movie blah blah blah there are better things you could spend $60 on anyway" and so I agreed and it made me feel somewhat better though I was still extremely disappointed and took my anger out on him for another hour (sorry sweetie). He did get me an iced maple macchiato from Starbucks, though. It actually made me feel 90% better.
So we're walking down Granville Street which is like the LV Strip but like the opposite because it's Canadian and there's actually like nothing on it but grungy old theatres, homeless people, and even more grungy fast food restaurants, but there is an Urban Outfitters and a mall, but Josh decides that he wants Smoke's Poutine which is this amazing poutine that has like all these crazy flavours, which I was fine with at first, but he got pulled pork poutine and he was kind of like taunting me with it saying it's ok to eat like this when I'm upset.........NO. Stop. It's not ok. So he forced 3-4 bites into me but I told him to just eat it quickly and that I didn't want to eat like that and he apologized.
BUT THEN we get to the movie theatre, and he insists on popcorn, m&ms, and an iced tea! WTF. No. He doesn't really like understand that it's not unreasonable for me to ask him not to eat like that in front of me, especially when like we've gone to movies every second week for the past year and I ALWAYS get M&Ms. So I decided to get just a ham and cheese and veggie Subway sandwich with the bread scooped out to carve my craving, but I still ended up eating most of the pack of M&Ms, as well as half the big cup of iced tea. Whatever.
Anyway so we went to Top Shop and picked out this super cute outfit for me which I love and is super flattering and I love.

And then last night my dad picked me up and we went to go spread my grandmother's ashes which was a really difficult and emotional experience, but as my dad spread them and started to say some amazing words about this amazing woman, this white streak just appeared over top of us in the sky. I kid you not. And then my dad said "Is that you mom?" and the streak got really white. And then my dad said "Tif, are you here with us too?" (Tif is my sister whom passed away of brain cancer in 2012) and I swear on my life 2 more small streaks appeared centimetres away from the original streak right over top of us. It was an amazing experience, and it was some what settling. It was too dark to take a picture of the streak, which in my opinion wouldn't have even shown up in the picture had it been light enough, as it was something you could only truly appreciate with your bare eyes, but I did snap a pic of the view from where her physical remains now lay.

All U Can Eat / Tanpopo Review
So last night my boyfriend and I decided that we'd go out to a nice dinner because we don't go out for really nice sit-down dinners.
Tanpopo (the restaurant we went to) is located in our favourite area (English Bay) and is a fancy upstairs type environment.
This was a "planned cheat meal", but I actually did pretty well and stayed away form the rice and sugary things. I went for the all meat, sashimi and bbq and the food was so-so. It wasn't great for the price ($30 per person) especially since we live in the biggest sushi city in the world probably.
None the less, it was a nice night and I even skipped the DQ Blizzard he insisted we get afterwards.
It is now Saturday afternoon, and I am enjoying my family's leftover wonton soup from the Chinese food they ordered while I was out last night (if you know me at all, you'll know I can't resist Chinese food...especially sweet and sour pork.......) Anywhooo I didn't get any and there was none left (thank god!) but I am content with this soup.
For breakfast this morning, I actually attempted juicing. It was pretty good!
1 small apple
1 large carrot
1/8 med pineapple
1/2 med cucumber
I also added 1 scoop of this vanilla rice protein powder stuff, but it tasted HORRIBLE so I scooped it out as best I could luckily before I mixed it in.
Lots of people on MFP have been requesting I do a haul video from my trip to Walmart, so I am going to do that after my lunch.
Love y'all! Thanks for the support

Good Morning & WLJ Before Pic &Weight Update & Gym
Good morning, lovelies!
It's 10 am and I have woken up on my sleep-in day (every second friday, or every day 2 for me at school) to go to the gym!
I know it's a bit soon to be weighing myself, but a lot of people have been doubting my weight so I decided I would weigh myself first thing when I wake up, after pee, and before consuming and form of liquid/solid. This morning I weighed 188.8 lbs.
This is my third day in a row at the gym, which I'm actually really proud about considering I only just started going back to the gym this week and I went into full force right away and my body and I both seem totally fine with the pace I'm going at!
My plan is to go to the gym every day from monday-friday for at least 40 mins-1 hour depending on how my body feels, and then increase that when I feel ready.
So far it's mostly been running on elliptical at 5.5 for 1 min, then sprinting at 7.2 for 1 min, repeat x10
I did a bit of HIIT in the backyard yesterday, but I got very tired about 10 mins through and decided it was enough for the day. I probably could've kept going, but I didn't want to strain my body.
Anywhoo, I thought I'd post my first every pre-weight loss journey photo this morning. I just took it now, and I am VERY uncomfortable with it.
I've being getting SO much positive feedback from my clothed (or at least mostly clothed LOL!) photos on MFP that I thought I'd 'yolo' this one and just post it.
Every successful weight loss story has a 'before' and an 'after'...so here's my 'before'. Also, you should check out this girl's blog post! She's my friend on MFP and it's AMAZING!
Love you guys, I've already had several friend requests and messages since yesterday!
Xoxo, Lauren

Hello All! First Post
Hi all,
So, I realize that some of you may know me and some of you may not...either way I thought I'd do a welcome/get to know me post.
My name is Lauren, I was born in 1996 and I am currently struggling a lot with my weight.
I am 5'3" ish and as of 3 days ago, I weigh 190 lbs...my heaviest weight ever.
I have gained a lot of weight in the past 2 years since my sister passed away of cancer, and even more recently due to the loss of my grandmother 1 week ago. She was very dear to me and we were very close and I miss her a lot.
I am leaving for uni this august to Liverpool, England to study music and become a performer.
My goal is to do what I love which is singing and voice acting, but I feel like my weight is holding me back A LOT due to confidence issues which are very obviously important to this career.
Anywayyyy this blog is dedicated to me turning my life around and getting myself to where I was 3-4 years ago at 137 lbs and then down to my goal which is 120 lbs.
I currently use a fitness app called My Fitness Pal and that inspired me to make this blog. Everyone on this blog are amazing, lovely, supportive people and it's honestly such an amazing community to join even if you are already at your goal weight, or you want to bulk up.
If you'd like to be my friend on MFP, you can add me here but please add a message with your friend request or else it will get ignored or deleted.
Today is day 3 for me, but starting tomorrow, I will be posting pictures and recipes of all the food I make and eat, as well as my gym tips (I am going to the gym 5 days a week).
Thanks for all the support so far, I'm so appreciative and excited to start this journey and meet new people along the way that are in the same boat as me and understand where I'm coming from.
Love y'all
xoxo
